The 3 Keys To Weight Loss That No One Is Talking About... Not Even The Experts!

More often then not, the men and women that consistently struggle with their weight are those who mistakenly focus only on the physical factors of weight loss. These individuals become consumed about what foods they should eat and which ones they should stay away from. They also tend to have an unhealthy view about exercise. They may exercise too much or avoid it altogether. Approaching weight loss in this manner is a recipe for disaster. A lifetime of yo-yo dieting and constant guilt is often the result.

What are the best nutrition dense superfoods? - Paleo Hacks.com
We hear a lot in the media about this or that being the lastest 'superfood.' Soy is a classic case. However, on inspection, many of these foods do not turn out to be so super after all. Case in point, someone was recently touting ...

Robert Pattinson Reveals The Weight Loss Tactic He Swears By

Unless you have sworn off television, the movies and magazines, you have probably heard of Robert Pattinson. Just in case you haven’t, he’s one the guys who currently stars in the insanely popular Twilight Franchise. If you are a fan of Pattinson and have been keeping up with the debate, then you are likely firmly ‘Team Edward’. As someone who has watched the madness from afar, I gander that all of the fuss isn’t just about Pattinson’s acting skills. He doesn’t exactly seem shy about posing without a shirt on and the fairer sex, regardless of age, seems to appreciate that fact. And I guess he shouldn’t be shy. He looks great. Recently, he shared a few of his dieting tips, which help him maintain his killer physique, with his fans.

Secrets to Staying Slim That Skinny People Know About But Aren’t Telling (Until Now!)

Most of us, especially those who struggle with their weight or have in the past, are at least a little bit envious of those people who appear to be naturally thin. You know those people who seem to be able to eat whatever they want and still fit into their skinny jeans the next day. Well, word is, they may have a few secrets up their sleeves that those who struggle with their weight don’t. Here are a few of those secrets.

Skinny Secret #1: Skinny People Can’t Eat Whatever They Want
One major misconception about naturally skinny people is that they can eat whatever they want. This simply isn’t true. Just because a person has a turbo metabolism doesn’t mean that they can consume tons of fatty and sugary foods, as doing so can lead to all sorts of health problems such as diabetes, hypertension and hypoglycemia. It is important for everyone, regardless of their size, to follow a healthy diet, one that includes lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and vegetables.

Skinny Secret #2: Naturally Skinny People Get Moving
Even if naturally skinny people are not in the gym for hours on end doesn’t mean that they aren’t active. There are many ways to keep physically active. Doing the laundry, shuttling the kids to and from activities, taking the stairs instead of the elevator and parking further away in the parking lot are all easy ways to incorporate extra activity into ones schedule. Of course, if you are not naturally thin, it may be necessary to take a more deliberate approach to physical activity and exercise. Walking, jogging, aerobics and swimming are all good choices.

Skinny Secret #3: Naturally Skinny People Are Optimistic
Naturally skinny people are often times optimistic. Because depression can lead to weight gain, either due to eating for comfort or the release of fat-inducing stress hormones. Learning to regulate ones mood and de-stress is extremely important. People who don’t have problems with their weight are less apt to turn to food when they are stressed, tired or sad.

Skinny Secret #4: Naturally Skinny People Often Times Wish They Had Curves
People who aren’t naturally thin often times believe that they have received the short of the stick. The truth is many thin people have always desired to have curves (women) or that they were more muscular (men). It’s completely natural to wish for something that one doesn’t have. Often times it is those who don’t have something that see the value and beauty in it. It is important that each person learns to appreciate who they are and then do their best to work with what they have.

Getting Active!

Exercise can be challenging for some people—especially those who don’t do it on a regular basis. It can appear to be a very taxing activity after a long day’s worth of stress and a tiring workload but strange as it seems, exercise is a great way to cope with it. It is only a matter of changing your mindset and attitude towards exercise.

Women Food and God…Does It Live Up To The Hype?

Oprah, yes, that Oprah, recently sat down with the author of one of the hottest weight loss books on the market, Women Food and God.  This isn’t the first time that an author has graced Winfrey’s stage and it probably won’t be the last. Because of this, it is easy to be dismissive about this latest weight loss plan Winfrey is touting and the “guru” behind it, Geneen Roth, but should we? Actually, after considering Roth’s message, she seems to be pretty dead on. The view that weight struggles are not actually about food but the emotions behind consuming it, is exactly what I talk about in my book, program and with my coaching clients. You see there are issues aside from food which contribute to weight gain and the inability to shed those extra pounds for good. I believe in taking a holistic approach to weight loss which is appropriate for men, women and overweight children and teens.

Food For Thought

Consciousness starts with your diet. Lets talk about diets for a moment. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word diet? Restrictions? Hunger? Weight loss? There are many negative connotations with it, as it has become the buzz word that society likes to use. What if the word diet was replaced with the word lifestyle? The word lifestyle may change the images in your head, as it becomes more personal. A lifestyle describes the way we interact with our environment, the reason we get up in the morning, our routines, and our relationships.

10 Things I Believe Completely

1. I believe that successful weight loss starts from the inside out.
2. I believe you can achieve anything you desire as long as you believe you can.
3. I believe we all need the support of others to be successful.
4. I believe there is a natural cure for almost everything.
5. I believe motivation can start you moving in the direction that you want, but creating new good habits will keep you moving in that direction in the long-term.
6. I believe we are 100% responsible for the results in our lives—good or bad —and when you believe this you go from being a victim to being empowered.
7. I believe we accept aging when we shouldn’t, there are natural ways to slow down the process and have a life full energy and vitality.
8. I believe to create the body you desire you must make small incremental changes consistently, they add up to big changes over time.
9. I believe that you are what you eat, but even more importantly, you are what you think, and each day your thoughts determine how well you are nourishing your body, mind and soul.
10. I believe a healthy family starts with healthy parents, be a good role model for your children/grandchildren and end childhood obesity, at least in your own family!

Please share what you believe.

Another Weight Loss Drug To Hit The Market Soon: Will We Ever Learn?

Arena Pharmaceuticals has announced that it has signed off the rights to sell its weight loss drug, Lorcaserin to Eisai Ince. Lorcaserin is a weight loss pill designed to help those that are obese and overweight, to lose weight. Expecting a huge return on their investment, Arena has signed a contract with Eisai that promises to make them more then $1 billion dollars richer. It’s pretty obvious that the company is looking to cash in on people’s desire and desperation to lose weight and improve their health. At first glance, a diet pill might seem like a great gift to those who most desperately need to lose weight. However, when we take a quick look back at the “gifts” scientists and researchers have provided the pubic-at-large in the form of weight loss pills, we find that these “gifts” were best not given. Diet pills whether, over-the-counter or prescription, tend to cause more problems then progress.

Are The Biggest Loser’s Weight Loss Methods Dangerous?

Are the Biggest Loser’s weight loss methods dangerous? At least one contestant seems to think so. Kai Hibbard, a recent participant of the show, has been hitting the media circuit speaking out against the show’s questionable approach to weight loss. Kai claims that bowing under the pressure to lose as much weight as possible, she and others would resort to any means necessary, even attempting to manipulate the scale via dehydration. This story unfortunately isn’t all that rare. Millions of men and women
all over America resort to extremely dangerous measures in order to lose weight. The only difference is that they aren’t starring on a hit reality television show.
